Kyoto Prefectural University (KPU) will host the
“Summer Seminar on International Kyoto Studies 2026 (KKSS2026)” during the summer of 2026.
This program is open only to students from partner institutions. Our college has been invited to participate, and students from the College of Liberal Arts are encouraged to apply.
I. Program Dates
???? August 3 (Monday) to August 8 (Saturday), 2026
II. Eligibility
• Undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts, National Chengchi University
• This program is limited to students from partner institutions
III. Quota
• 20 students per course (maximum 25)
• Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis
IV. Program Content
This seminar combines Japanese language study with courses on Kyoto culture and Kyoto studies, including:
• Japanese language classes by level
• Kyoto studies lectures (taught in English)
• Small-group instructional support
• Traditional Kyoto cultural experience activities
???? Based on Japanese proficiency:
• Type 1: Beginner-level Japanese learners
• Type 2: Intermediate to advanced Japanese learners
V. Daily Class Schedule
• Period 1: 08:50–10:20
• Period 2: 10:30–12:00
• Period 3: 12:50–14:20
• Period 4: 14:30–16:00
VI. Fees
• Program fee: JPY 30,000 (includes activity fees)
• Accommodation fee: Approximately JPY 80,000 (for the program period, paid separately)
o The accommodation fee must be transferred online to the designated travel agency account
• Airfare, meals, and other personal expenses must be covered by the students themselves
Actual fees may vary depending on the exchange rate at the time of payment.
